General Committee Meeting – March 2026 Summary.
The General Committee met on Saturday 14 March 2026 at the Clubhouse to review current priorities, confirm roles and responsibilities for the year ahead, and receive updates from across the Club.
Committee roles for 2026–27 were agreed, including confirmation of responsibilities for competitions, handicaps, discipline, membership, treasury and governance matters. The captains' charities for the year were confirmed, with Alzheimer's supported by the Ladies' and Seniors' sections and Heart Heroes chosen as the Men's Captain's charity.
The Treasurer presented an overview of competition income and expenditure for 2025, showing that overall spending on prizes and trophies remains broadly in balance. Practical matters were also agreed, including changes to bank signatories and a budget to replace benches on the 4th and 11th holes.
The Secretary provided an update ahead of stepping down from the role, including plans to introduce a Suggestions Book for members and progress toward establishing a Junior Section, alongside the need to address safeguarding and junior‑focused activities.
Reports from the Men's, Ladies' and Seniors' sections covered upcoming competitions, inter‑club matches and representative events. An update was also given following attendance at the Annual County Junior Conference, highlighting national and county initiatives to make junior golf more accessible, enjoyable and sustainable.
The meeting closed with confirmation that all previous action points had been completed and with agreement of the next meeting date.
